Del Oro Freshman Boys Win First League Game, Now 14-0
The Del Oro Freshman boys basketball team expanded their winning record to 14-0 with their first league win against Woodcreek on Thursday night in a final score of 55 to 50. The Golden Eagles maintained the lead throughout the game against the Timberwolves and ended the third quarter up 13 points. Jordan Huckaby had a double-double and was high scorer for the team with 14 points, followed by Luis Parache with 13. Huckaby also led rebounding with 10 followed by Parache with 7. Point guard Rex Hime lead the team with 9 assists and made a statement on the defensive end of the floor with 7 steals. The frosh’s first league win on Thursday followed a close win again Jesuit at home last Tuesday night – final score 56 to 54. Blake Covey led the team in scoring against the Marauders with 14, followed by Huckaby with 13. Huckaby also led the team in rebounds with 7, followed by Luis Parache with 6. Hime lead the team in steals with 2 and assists with 4. The Frosh look for their 15th win of the season when they play Oakmont at home on Tuesday.
