Rocklin Loomis Basin Rotary Ride for Polio Saturday AM
Rocklin Loomis Basin Rotary Club President, Rob Kolb, brings a timely summer focus to polio eradication by cycling through Rocklin and Loomis towns in true Tour de France style. Kolb and the RLB Club will raise awareness and funds for PolioPlus, a Rotary International fund whose goal is to wipe out the disease. PolioPlus recently received a $355 million from the Bill and Melissa Gates Foundation, which the fund seeks to match.
RLB’s Ride for Polio will start at Safeway on Sunset Blvd. in Rocklin at 8 a.m., on Saturday, July 11. Rob and his cycling pelloton will then ride to Bel Air in Rocklin, the Ugly Mug on Taylor Rd. In Loomis, then back to Rocklin’s Granite Drive Safeway, to cross the finish line at Sunset Whitney Country Club on Midas Drive in Rocklin. Rob will lead the 12.5 mile ride to raise $1,000 for the fund.
Rob’s fundraiser will include breakfast with Rob at the Ugly Mug, a putting contest, and a pie throwing contest at Sunset Whitney Country Club.
