Universal Health Care Discussed!
UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE DISCUSSED!
On Tuesday night, February 2nd, three Rocklin High School students spoke about the nation's universal health care issue. Niraj Amalkanti, Leandro Praseli, and Rachel Williams competed in Rocklin Lions Club annual student speakers contest. They were coached by their teacher James Grace. The Master of Ceremonies was Lion John Lehmann.
A crowd of twenty-five Lions, parents, and guests sat through the competition. Judges Chuck Kilbourne, Shirley Nagasawa and Dyanne Streff selected Niraj Amalkanti to represent Rocklin High School, the Rocklin Lions Club and the Community of Rocklin at the Lions Zone Level competition. Lion dignitaries visiting the event were Past District Govenor - Richard DeCuir, Eureka Zone Chairperson Lion Susan Giles, LIon Bernadette DeCuir of the Folsom City Lions and Dusty Harrison of Newcastle-Golden Spike Lions.
On Tuesday, March 10th at 7:00 p.m. Naraj will be competing against students from Lincoln, Loomis, Newcastle and Auburn. This competition will take place at the Portuguese Hall on Taylor Road in Newcastle.
