Photography Contest for Placer County High School Students

Calling all high school photography enthusiasts! The Placer Nature Center is hosting a photography contest for high school students. Test your photography skills while you help Placer Nature Center document and celebrate the Nature Center’s Trail. If you enjoy outside photography, enter this contest!

The Placer Nature Center has a mile long interpretive trail. Contest participants enter their photographs taken on the trail in any of the four categories; black and white, color, digitally enhanced, or photographic collage. Students can submit one image in each category. Placer Nature Center’s winding trail gives ample opportunity for creative photography with its creekside, forest and woodland habitats. Rock outcrops grace the landscape and plenty of wildlife signs are seen along the trail.

Images will be judged on clarity, exposure, composition, visual interest, originality, and utility. Winning images from each category will be part of the Auburn Art Walk in April 2010. The Old Library Artist Studios will host their framed work. The winners will also have their work credited and placed on the Placer Nature Center web site with our trail map.

Photographs must be postmarked by March 12. The registration form and complete information can be found on the Placer Nature Center website, www.placernaturecenter.org. Come walk the trail with your camera and enter your creative images into the Placer Nature Center’s high school photo contest. If you have any questions, contact Linda at 530-878-6053.
